Don't miss this (free) definitive guide on buying and selling a home by owner.
If you opt to also add your home to the MLS, please know that there are advantages and disadvantages of the MLS. To begin with, you will pay a flat fee up-front to a listing broker and agree to pay anywhere from 2-3% of the selling price to a buyer’s agent. BEWARE - it is not YOUR phone number that will be listed on the MLS but rather the Listing Broker. There are some real estate brokers that will place you on the MLS for a flat fee and then point your prospective buyers to other higher commission listings. If adding the MLS option is something you want to consider, we will gladly refer you to one of many reputable brokers with flat fee rates.
